Down Comforter Bedding

Researchers do not know exactly why people need sleep, but we do know that lack of sleep can kill. In research studies, rats normally live two to three years, but if rats are totally deprived of sleep, they only live about five weeks. They also develop sores, their immune systems do not work well and their body temperature drops. Humans deprived of sleep for long periods begin hallucinating and develop other mental problems.

That being said, it will do you some good to get as much sleep as possible.  You’ll want to start by outfitting your bed with comfortable items such as down comforters and body pillows.  These are very simple adjustments that could prolong your life.

Now that you have invested in a goose down pillow, you want to do all that you can to keep it looking and feeling as luxurious as it did when you first bought it. And you can do it all right in your own laundry room.

It is best to wash your goose down pillows on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent. To make sure that all the soap is washed out tof the pillow, run through that rinse cycle 2 more times, then dry completely on low heat setting. It could take as much as 3 or 4 cyles to completely dry your pillow.  Take pillow out of dryer and fluff between drying cycles. Even when it feels dry on the outside, it may still be damp on the inside. Any clumps that you feel may indicate that it is not completely dry. It may take a little more effort to care for your down pillow, but the years of use that you will receive make it all worthwhile. To make your goose down pillow even more fluffy and sweet smelling between washings, add a couple of clean tennis balls and fabric softener sheet to the  air fluff drying cycle.
